Will You Meet the Love of Your Life on a Venus Descendent Line?

  • Spheres of Fate Astrology

Venus is the planet of love and attraction in astrology. Descendent lines on your astrocartography map represent relationships. Broadly speaking, this combination is promising for finding love or connection with others. The harmonious, beautiful, romantic, and balancing energy of Venus comes forth in your one on one connections on Venus descendent lines. Though, because everyone’s astrocartography map is unique to their own birth chart, the full answer is dependent upon the individual’s natal potentials.

Evaluating the condition of Venus in your birth chart:

The condition of one’s natal Venus reveals which kinds of experiences the line promises. In astrology, a planet’s “condition” refers to the amount of fortune or difficulty it presents in your life. Two key factors to consider when determining a planet’s condition are sign placement and aspects.

Sign placement: If an individual has Venus in Virgo in their birth chart, in it's fall (debilitated condition), then going to a Venus line will exasperate difficulties in relationships. On the contrary, if one has their Venus in Libra, in it's domicile (dignified condition), then going to a Venus line will amplify harmony in relationships. Essentially, Venus experiences more ease in certain signs and experiences discomfort in certain signs- as outlined in an astrological concept called the "essential dignities". Neutral sign placements for Venus, also known as peregrine placements, would be suitable in addition to dignified placements (domicile & exaltation).

Aspects: Another important consideration is one’s natal aspects to Venus. For example, if one has Venus square Saturn in their natal chart (a challenging aspect), then going to a Venus line will amplify hardships in relationships. If one’s natal Venus trines Jupiter (a supportive aspect), then going to a Venus line will enhance good fortune and abundance in relationships. In general, squares, oppositions, and conjunctions involving the malefics are unfavorable aspects to Venus. Trines, sextiles, and conjunctions involving neutral planets or Jupiter are favorable aspects to Venus.

It is of great importance to evaluate the condition of your natal Venus when considering moving to a Venus line. Most people will have a mix of conditions surrounding their Venus placement. Studying the foundations of traditional astrology, consulting with an astrologer, or booking a natal chart reading will provide more clarity on the condition of your Venus.

What to Expect on Venus Descendent lines when your natal Venus is in good condition:

  • Increased appreciation interpersonally

  • Attracting harmonious and balanced relationships

  • A focus on leisure, entertainment, creativity, and relaxation with others

  • Others mirroring your values and preferences

  • Meeting soulmates or best friends

  • Business partnerships

  • Social networking

  • Beneficial contracts, agreements, compromises, or collaborations

  • Positive interactions with others

If your Venus is in great condition, then Venus descendent lines are beautiful locations to visit or move to for more blessings in love and relationships. Otherwise, it is necessary to look for other planetary lines to find soulmate connections.

Alternative Love Lines if your Venus is not in good condition:

The planetary ruler of your 7th house- The 7th house represents partnerships of any kind. Perhaps Jupiter, another benefic planet, is the ruler of your 7th house (the house of others). In this case, it would be more beneficial to look for Jupiter lines on your astrocartography map (given Jupiter is in better condition in this example).

The planetary ruler of your 5th house- The 5th house is another option if your 7th house ruler isn’t in good condition, as the 5th house governs dating and romance. For example, if the Sun rules your 5th house, and your Sun is in good condition, then locations near Sun Descendent lines on your astrocartography map would emphasize your dating life.

The dispositor of your Venus- The dispositor of your Venus is the planetary ruler of the sign it’s in. For example, if your natal Venus is in Cancer, the dispositor is the Moon because the Moon rules the sign of Cancer. If the dispositor of your Venus is in good condition, consider those planetary lines on your astrocartography map for relationship purposes. In the previous example, the individual with Venus in Cancer would look for locations near Moon Descendent lines on their map.
